Engineering Firms Performance Management System Case Study

The Issue

The company requires a highly skilled engineering workforce. They are in the same market for skills as industries such as the Oil and Gas Industry.

To attract and retain staff they need to offer a challenge of skill development and job satisfaction. They are using their new performance management system to align personal skills to business needs; provide feedback on individual performance; match manpower skills to future business needs; and explore training and progression options.

The process of developing the system is as important as the system itself. We put together a development team made up of a cross section of employees to design a system that would fit the culture and give the outputs desired.

We then trained the reviewers and reviewees to ensure common practices across the company.

The system is now up and running and early feedback is positive. Personal development plans are being executed.
